Understanding Volume Calculations
Volume is the measure of how much space a three-dimensional object occupies. It's measured in cubic units (like cm³, m³, in³). Different shapes have different volume formulas:
Cube Volume
A cube has all sides equal. Volume = side × side × side = a³
Sphere Volume
A perfectly round 3D shape. Volume = (4/3) × π × radius³
Cylinder Volume
A tube with circular bases. Volume = π × radius² × height
Cone Volume
A pyramid with a circular base. Volume = (1/3) × π × radius² × height
Rectangular Prism Volume
A box shape. Volume = length × width × height
